about pass the headphones
this website was founded in July 2026 with the express purpose of spotlighting the music of smaller/obscure artists. the hope was and still is that this will help to diversify peoples’ musical pallets while platforming smaller artists and giving them agency to create more of their amazing music.
there will be honest critiques of the music featured on this website. but whether we like or dislike the music, art is subjective. each listener has their own perspective and gets to decide what sounds good to them. these reviews ultimately only reflect our opinion.
the function of the minimal advertising on the website is to recuperate website admin costs, build a fund for supporting artists, and make a small profit where possible. we support artists through electronic purchases of their music through platforms like Bandcamp. when possible we contribute money beyond the amount asked for by the artist. as the advertising revenue grows, so will our contribution quantities to artists.
speaking of which: if you have the means to, consider also supporting artists through platforms like Bandcamp or artist websites. the revenue shared with the artist is much greater through these means thus giving your favorite artists greater opportunity to create more music for you to love!
we hope you enjoy pass the headphones. if you would like to contact us for any reason, please reach out to contact@passtheheadphones.com.
